What is a customer?

Also called consumer, client, end-user, retailer, buyer, beneficary, receiver or purchaser

According to ISO 9000:2000 the definition of a customer is "a organization or person that receives a Product".
Product can be a physical as well as a service. Customer are the source of incomer for any business. There demand has to be satisfied, so that they continue buying products from the company. Customers determine the Requirements. Because of their importance Customer focus is one of the Quality principles of ISO 9000:2000.
