According to ISO 9000:2000 a requirement
is defined as "Need or expectation that is stated, generally
implied or obligatory". Requirements are defined by the
Customers, they are translated into a specification by the
organisation or one of its functions (i.e.: design and
developement). Physical properties as well as other features can
be requirements.
